Our Process

How Facade and Exterior Building Cleaning Works in Dubai

Dubai’s facade cleaning market is regulated by Dubai Civil Defence (DCD) for any work above 2 metres. All rope access technicians must hold valid working at height certification. Facade soiling in Dubai is driven by desert sand, humidity, bird droppings, and pollution from traffic and construction.

Step 1 — Site Survey and Method Statement

We conduct a free site survey to assess: building height, facade material (glass curtain wall, aluminium, concrete, stone, PVDF cladding), access requirements (rope, MEWP, scaffold), level of soiling (light dust, heavy mineral deposit, biological growth), and any special requirements (solar shading, heritage materials, occupied building). We then produce a Method Statement and Risk Assessment — required by DCD for all working at height jobs in Dubai.

Step 2 — Access Rigging or Equipment Setup

For rope access work, our IRATA-certified technicians rig anchor systems on the roof under DCD supervision requirements. For MEWP (cherry picker or boom lift), we coordinate permits, road closures if required, and outrigger placement. All equipment is inspected before use. Our operatives carry valid working-at-height and confined spaces permits.

Step 3 — Facade Cleaning

Working top to bottom, we apply specialist detergent appropriate to the surface — acid-based for mineral deposits on glass and stone, neutral pH for PVDF and aluminium, biocide for biological growth. High-pressure water is used at controlled pressures to avoid damage to joints and seals. Glass curtain walls are cleaned with purified water and professional squeegee technique.

Step 4 — Ground Level Clean and Inspection Report

After top-down cleaning, ground level surrounds are cleaned of any runoff, and all lower-level surfaces are inspected. We document any damaged seals, cracked panels, failed fixings, or areas of concern with photos and include them in a post-clean report. This condition report is valuable for building management and reactive maintenance scheduling.
